Policies & Aspirations
• Transparency
I aim to introduce the participatory voting system as demonstrated by councillors Johnson & Farr. I will create a website that will be a forum for the residents of ward 6 (“the sixth sense” has a nice ring to it) with unique login usernames & passwords. Where & how the budget gets devoted will be updated accordingly for all to be able to weigh, consider & contribute strategies for efficiency in the neighbourhood.
The corporate purchasing of the naming rights to community pillar, Bernie Arbour Stadium, is the exact reason why Ward 6 desperately needs an online forum to vote on major decisions like this.
I would never take such consequential actions without the consent of the community.

• HSR > LRT
HSR service has been widely neglected over the past decade while bus transit in Brampton is surging.
Express lines are efficient. I recall the first I caught an A line as opposed to my usual Route 27 HSR I felt like I could hear Chewbecca gargling. With the proper devotion this strategy would achieve what the train seeks to & for far less than a billion dollars. The city at large would benefit as opposed to one section. We need an initiative for implementing electric busses (Proterra provides them currently at 750k pop) and charging stations around the city.
Though I highly respect the sentiment, I don’t trust the project will be delivered under a billion dollars & the city will be left in a very vulnerable position. A hundred million dollars has been spent so far, mainly on real estate, with 90 more properties to go. My ire is drawn when comparing the statistics of Kansas city’s KC Street Car as a recent example. The project, completed in 2015, was delivered for a hundred million dollars achieving 3km of track. Not a single rail, or “shovel in the ground” (get used to this mantra) and already a tenth of the proposed budget has evaporated. I feel devoting lanes during rush hour periods for a converting electric fleet will suffice until the population swells to equate a Beijing comparison.

Roads & Infrastructure
• Pot hole vigilance. Taking from the infrastructure funds as needed so we don’t have to suffer the aggravation on our way home during freeze/thaw season. Keeping each other informed via the “6th Sense” (patent pending) online forum.
• Sidewalks along Unsworth & Hempstead off Upper Ottawa. I’ve seen far too many Mothers pushing strollers on the street next to zooming traffic for my liking. During the winter pedestrians are forced to the shoulder under slippery road conditions which is unsettling to say the least.
• A pedestrian crossing (like on Concession near Juravinski Hospital) at Albion for visitors crossing from the rail trail parking lot. This is a blind side death trap & it has been since I was a young boy. The path from the Pritchard parking lot needs a wee bit of upgrading along the old road towards the Falls.
• The guardrail along the brow beyond the Traffic circle toward Concession is spray painted sheet metal and needs renovation as well as an upgrade where the path ends at Upper Ottawa the brow. Revisiting the prospect of adding a sidewalk connecting the brow trail as opposed to meandering through suburbs. Not a nice day goes by I don't see individuals schlepping along someone’s lawn like a stowaway.
I will continue to note areas as the campaign season progresses & communicate with the community.

• Maximizing budget
Through participatory voting we can stay informed and ensure the best decisions are being made with funds. Recently I was informed a study on the potential for a million dollar stairway to the bottom of Albion Falls would cost 54k. I wondered well how could it cost a million if the study has yet to be conducted.

• Affordable Housing
“Economics offer tactics, not strategy” - Ed Glaeser
• Expanding Recreational Leisure (windsail, zip line, repel, rope course, what’s your dream?)
The impetus for my pursuit of Ward Councillor was the closing of Albion Falls & addition of bylaw enforcement issuing tickets to citizens & visitors. I was stunned & deeply saddened. Even attempted to join the Albion Falls task force to aid the resolution but was denied membership. I grew up on Trenholme crescent which is just up the rail trail from the Falls. My Family & friends have been hiking safely here for generations.
I seek for Albion Falls to have access reopened from the bottom in accordance with the Hamilton Conservation Aurhority. This would allow for guided tours netting a profit as well as, & most importantly, an opportunity to educate one another how to hike safely. A study of flash flood conditions & a gate to close the trail during said conditions therein would ensure safety.
I would also like to seriously explore zip lining, tree courses, repelling & re opening the Kings Forrest skihill for winter festivities & issuing registration to enable parasailing in the summer.

Update: Synergy is in the air. Since launched this website on June 8th containing this initiative. Councillor Whitehead is feeling the Summer heat also.
